About the Author

Maria-Victoria currently works as a protected area

manager in southern Norway.

 

Her birthplace was New York. A series of life's unexpected events brought her from the United States to Iceland where she was hired as the executive secretary for the Conservation of Arctic Flora and Fauna working group of the Arctic Council (CAFF).

 

It was while working for CAFF that the idea for this series of books was conceived.

 

A promotion brought her journey further east to Northern Norway in 2007.

Many of the scenes described in the first book of this series are based on personal experiences while living in the subarctic and Arctic for 17 years.
